Saturday Morning Cartoons!

When I was a kid, part of the excitement of waking up Saturday morning (aside from not having to go to school) was Saturday morning cartoons. My brother and I loved waking up early to run to my parent’s room, jump into their bed, and invade their space to watch Saturday Morning Cartoons with dad. Our intrusion was moms queue to get up and start making breakfast, she realized she wouldn’t be getting any more rest because when you have kids and they wake up, the whole house wakes up. So while mom made breakfast, ee watched Reboot, Alf Tales, The Flinstones and the Jetsons…they just don’t make cartoons like they used to.

Today, in my household, my kids wake up and want to go to the couch to watch TV. Actually, after a while, they woke up and wanted to use our phones or tablets to watch youtube. We had to nip that in the butt, but that for another blog. As an adult, one of the best things about Saturday morning (aside from not having to go to work) is cuddling up with the kids on the couch, and watching cartoons. I don’t get up and do housework anymore like I use to, I just give them my attention because these moments are precious.

When my parents come to town, the kids cuddle up with them and watch cartoons, like this morning.

These are the moments when doing nothing, is EVERYTHING! This weekend, make your kids and their time with you the priority, and there is no way you can have a bad weekend.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, It’s time for me to get back to the Muppet Babies on Disney.

Happy Cartoon Saturday Morning!

The P.I. Mom
